  1. It's just taken me no less than 10 minutes to find out how to post a new thread on this community.   I was in the discussions section and nowhere is there a button to create a new post.  I only managed to find it by clicking "Get Help" in the top bar.    Surely you should ahve a "New Post" button somewhere near all the listed discussions?
  2. The new forum is soooo confusing, posts vanish/are hard to find.  Comments and replies appear to reorder randomly and theyre hard to follow.   Please go back to the old simple forum.  This is just frustrating and a nightmare to use.
  3. Why does no one respond to posts mentioning 1Password on Blue Sky?
  4. When will 1Password update to use a Liquid Glass tab bar in iOS 26 and move the search bar to the bottom as is done quite commonly in iOS26?

  6. When will 1Password support Import and Export in the FIDO supported way that MacOS26 now supports natively?  It's built into MacOS by default so I assume the design of the import/export system is finalised and ready to use (otherwise Apple wouldn't have built it in)?

Has 1Password lost focus on what made itself so great?   Recently all i've been hearing from 1Password are sponsorships of F1 teams, and a ton of high end enterprise stuff.    Where's the focus and development of consumer features and fixes to those longstanding requests that we've had.   I've suggested many things over the years, most of which i've had comments from 1Password saying "oh this is a great idea", or "I agree that would be nice change", or "this is on the timeline" yet are still nowhere to be seen.  Stuff to do with attachments, auto bi-directional relationships between items.  Making "Reveal" and "Copy" be buttons that never vanish or are hidden behind a hoverable menu button.    Where all all these fixes and tweaks?  The user experience small niceities?     I think 1Password really has lost its way and doesn't care for small users anymore.

1Password used to stay up to date with latest OS releases very very very fast but it seems like that's dropped recently.

 

Please can I get honest answers to the above rather than "I've passed your feedback on to the team".   Stop messing us about and just give us solid information.   It's frustrating.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write all of this out. I know change in the Community (and in 1Password itself) can feel jarring, especially when you’ve been with us as long as you have. Let's go through some of your questions here and see if I can help shed some light on things.

I’m sorry it took you so long to figure out how to start a new thread; that’s frustrating. The way our platform works, you’ll first need to pick a category (like 1Password at Home or Developers), and once you’re in a category you’ll see the “Start a Discussion” button. That setup is built into how the platform handles organization, so it isn’t something we have much flexibility to change. I do hear you that it’s not as obvious as it could be, and we’ll keep looking for ways to make it clearer.

The new Community does give you a few sorting options (newest, oldest, most liked), which can help keep conversations in order. Search should also work across the community, but if you’re ever having trouble tracking something down, let us know and we can help point you in the right direction. I know it can feel different from the old forum, and it takes a bit of getting used to.

We do have an account there, but it’s not a platform we’re active on right now. Part of that is making sure that if and when we do show up, we’re adding real value instead of just broadcasting. It’s something we’ve been talking about internally, so it’s definitely on the radar.

We don’t have details or exact dates to share yet about adopting the new OS designs, but we’re always exploring ways to bring 1Password into the latest updates. When we do have news, you’ll see it in our announcements — I know a lot of folks are eager to see 1Password alongside the new Liquid Glass design.

When will 1Password support Import and Export in the FIDO supported way that MacOS26 now supports natively?  It's built into MacOS by default so I assume the design of the import/export system is finalised and ready to use (otherwise Apple wouldn't have built it in)

There’s no timeline I can share just yet, but we are actively working in this space. We recently wrapped up work with the FIDO Alliance on the Credential Exchange Format and Protocol last month, which lays the groundwork for the kind of import/export functionality we're excited to bring to 1Password.

It’s easy for the more visible things like sponsorships or enterprise updates to steal the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean the everyday details are being ignored. We’re continuing to invest in the improvements that make a real difference at home, and those kinds of ideas come up often in our own discussions.

Not every idea makes it into the product right away (sometimes because of technical hurdles, sometimes because it would mean re-thinking bigger pieces of the app, or how things work fundamentally behind-the-scenes), but feedback like yours still helps guide us. Even if we can’t act on everything immediately, it’s part of what shapes where we go next.

Thanks again for laying all this out, @rctneil. I know you’ve seen 1Password and this community grow and change over the years, and I don’t take that for granted. Even when the answers aren’t perfect, I’m glad you’re still here and part of the conversation.

@1P_Blake Thanks for your reply.   Let me make more comments:

Starting a thread: So, it appears the issue is on the main discussions page.  If you go there, you just cannot start a discussion. This is confusing and what tripped me up.  You MUST choose a category first and THEN you see the "Start a discussion" button.  Just put the same button in the same place on the previous page and ask for the category after.

BlueSky:  If you ahve an account on there then you SHOULD be monitoring it. It's confusing for users.  If you do not intend to use BlueSky then get rid of the account so when people search for it it does not show up.   Not replying or monitoring just makes you look rude for ignoring people when they post (even if unintentionally).

Updates: I think what frustrates me most is the whole "we're exploring this", "we'd love to do that", "nothing to announce at this time", "i'll pass this to the developers" comments.   If someone suggests something or asks then just be more open.  I can understand those messages but there needs to be a balance.

From a user point of view it just appears as though we are asking and making suggestions only for them to wither out into the void and nothing ever comes of them.

Also, in terms of new MacOS and iOS integrations, what's happened to the days of getting a rough prototype in a blog post video out within 24 hours of the WWDC keynote to "show off"?   Those were awesome!   I was always super impressed at how quickly your devs could at least try out a part of a new iOS software release in a build of 1Password within 24 hours of it being announced.  I'm sure it was super rough and not an example of final release but it was EPIC!  It was like WOW!

I'm on the Test Flight beta and I honestly thought that i'd see Liquid Glass / 26 based new features being added over the last few months but nothing.  Where's all the excitement for new OS and platform releases.    It's all this type of stuff that made me comment about F1 sponsorships and eneterprise stuff.  It really does appear as all this has been forgotten and put on the backburner in order to focus on those instead.  It's sad and dis-heartening.

You did state "but that doesn’t mean the everyday details are being ignored. We’re continuing to invest in the improvements that make a real difference at home, and those kinds of ideas come up often in our own discussions."  -  Can you post examples of these and prove to us users that these are not being left and forgotten?  Actually SHOW us.  Give us demos, make blog posts,  even a simple text list in your comment reply would do.     There honestly may be a ton of work being done in these areas internally, but from an external point of view, we're stuck out in the cold not being given information or being told about anything other than F1 sponsorships and enterprise.  :-(

Ok,  let me list my "hoped for" features and changes (most of which i have requested and commented about previously so maybe you could look into them and let me know if they are in development or likely to be worked on soon or not:

  1. Providing options for making "Copy", "Reveal", and "Show in Large Type" as buttons that appear on hover instead of a dropdown list?  A secondary option for allowing buttons to stay always visible (at the expensive of clarity) would be amazing.  That dropdown menu ANNOYS the **** outta me.
  2. Liquid Glass UI on appropriate platforms.
  3. Search at bottom on iOS.
  4. Auto reciprocated "item links". When you add a "Link to  related item", it will automatically add a link on that other item back to the current one?  OR at least a popup question that asks if you would like 1Password to add the reciprocated item link?    This is a necessity for me.  PLEASE!
  5. Full Export support for EVERYTHING.  Basically acting as a backup. Not just certain things.  EVERYTHING.
  6. Information on what would be transferable and moveable between managers with the new Credential Exchanges.

I do think a lot of the above is a lack of information from internal to external.  Speak to us!

I’ve read through your follow-up, and I hear the frustration in what you’re sharing. I know it can feel discouraging when the things you’d like to see either take longer than expected or don’t seem to move forward at all. I want to give you as much clarity as I can while also being honest about the limits here.

So, it appears the issue is on the main discussions page.  If you go there, you just cannot start a discussion. This is confusing and what tripped me up.  You MUST choose a category first and THEN you see the "Start a discussion" button.  Just put the same button in the same place on the previous page and ask for the category after.

On the Community side of things, as I touched on in my earlier reply, the way starting a discussion works is tied to the platform itself. You will need to choose a category before you’ll see the option to create a new discussion, and that isn’t something we can change. I get why it feels unintuitive compared to what you’d expect, but that’s simply how the platform is built.

When it comes to Bluesky, as I mentioned before, we do have an account there, but it’s not a platform we’re active on yet. That doesn’t mean we’re ignoring anyone or trying to confuse people — it just means we want to be thoughtful about how and when we engage. If and when we do, it’ll be in a way that adds real value, not just noise.

On updates and feature requests, I can’t provide the level of play-by-play you’re asking for. We don’t share roadmaps or give individual status reports on every suggestion. Some ideas would require deeper changes than they might seem, some are still being considered, and some aren’t possible. What we do share publicly are release notes, TestFlight builds, and blog posts once work is ready to show. Those are the most reliable ways to track progress.

I totally get the nostalgia for those quick demos right after events, because they were exciting moments. These days we put the same energy into making sure the updates we share are solid and ready for people to actually try, so what you see from us is closer to the real experience. The excitement for new platform features hasn’t gone anywhere; it just shows up in a more polished way now.

I want to reassure you that consumer features and quality-of-life improvements are still part of the work being done. Sponsorships or enterprise updates may be more visible, but they’re not the whole picture. We continue to invest in both, even if not every change is immediately obvious.

I realize this may not satisfy every point on your list, but I’ve shared as much as I can here. Your feedback is part of the ongoing conversation, even when we can’t act on everything directly.
