I just bought a new computer(Mac) and set up 1Password and 1Password browser extensions, on new computer, it seems like 1Password no longer runs in the background.
Im pretty sure 1Password was running background even "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" is off.

I think that issue has been fixed, but now there's a new bug?

Hello @manabin! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! You'll need to make sure that the menu bar icon is turned on so that 1Password for Mac can run in the background. Follow these steps:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
  2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Make sure that "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" is turned on.

If that doesn't fix the issue, or if the menu bar icon was already turned on, then let me know.

Do I have to turn on 1Password on menu bar? I want to hide 1Password on menu bar. Maybe should I use 3rd party app to hide menu bar?

Thanks for the reply! Yes, for 1Password to run in the background the menu bar icon has to be turned on. This is to ensure that you know when 1Password is running in the background and whether it is locked or unlocked.

Some people do use third-party apps to hide the menu bar, that's certainly one option that would work.
