Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.

Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.

Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General

Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID

BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!

Restart did not help. Macbook Pro is updated as well. I am referring to the extension on the Safari bar. It had been working previously. Touch ID is turned on in System Settings.

Hello @nosequepasa! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to unlock 1Password using Touch ID. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

  1. What version of the desktop app is installed? Are you able to unlock the desktop app using Touch ID?
  2. Can you unlock the Mac itself using Touch ID?

I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

This was all working fine until today - the Safari browser extension would unlock with my Apple Watch and was integrated with the 1Password app. After rebooting my Mac earlier today, the 1Password app unlocks with my watch but the Safari browser extension prompts for my password each time I run Safari.

I also have Chrome and Firefox installed and their 1Password extensions DO unlock with the Apple Watch and are integrated with the 1Password app. It's just the Safari extension that isn't integrated. When I open the Safari 1Password extension settings I see the following:

Toggling the setting makes no difference - I still see that error.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Safari extension but it makes no difference.

Anything else I can try?

I just recently had an update (at this point with your lovely track record of updates and issues lately I am going to be turning off auto updates once I get a working version again. that or I may start looking for different software.) and I have two issues happening:

  1. The 1Password for Safari is constantly asking me for my passsword
  2. After a reinstall of 1Password for Safari it will not connect to my local app that is open and unlocked. It is asking me to connect to 1Password website with my credentials instead of using the local app (for which I have the options in the app to "Connect with 1Password in the Browser" and in the extension (Integrate this extension with 1Password desktop app)

While looking at the 1Password for Safari settings I am setting a message appear under the option to connect with app:
Status: Problems connecting. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked.

FYI: it is unlocked

Yes, I posted about this earlier - glad it's not just me. I spent a few hours trying all sorts of things, including completely removing 1Password app and Safari extension and all associated settings, etc. and reinstalling from scratch. Nothing has made any difference.

The Chrome and Firefox extensions are still integrated with the 1Password app.

I can confirm that I also tried reinstalling the extension and 1Password. I also tried restarting the browser and 1Password and my laptop. I can also confirm that Chrome is working just fine.

Safari extension 2.27.1 asks for password after sleep even though "Lock on sleep, screensaver, or switching users" is set to off.
