Oct 10: We're leaving preview! Please migrate to the official build of 1Password for Windows (Arm): https://1password.community/discussion/148614/1password-for-windows-arm. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Aug 21: Updated the preview build with a version that does not expire. Please uninstall any previous versions of the ARM preview before installing this one.

Hello all!

It's an exciting time for Windows PCs with Microsoft's big announcements this week of the new Surface line, Copilot+ PCs, and, of course, the availability of devices based on the speedy, Arm-based Snapdragon X Elite processor.

Not to be left out of the fun, we'd like to share with you the first preview release of 1Password for Windows on Arm. 💪🥳

Of course, it's already possible to install and use 1Password on Arm-based Windows PCs, but until now the app has run in a slower x86 emulation mode. This is our first Arm-native build of the app, which means it is able to take full advantage of the new silicon.

Early indications are that 1Password for Windows on Arm is blazing fast (and we haven't even got our hands on the new Copilot+ PCs — yet!)

Things to know about the preview release

This preview build for Windows is based on the current stable channel release of 1Password (version 8.11). We are calling it a "preview" for three reasons:

  1. We have done limited testing on real hardware outside of virtual machines, as the new Copilot+ PCs have only just been announced.
  2. If 1Password is already installed on your PC, you'll need to uninstall the app before installing the Arm preview.
    • Your accounts will transfer over to the preview build, but I strongly recommend setting up a recovery code before uninstalling the app to be safe.
  3. This build of the app app will not update automatically — you will need to check back here for announcements and future releases.

Apart than these considerations, the build is a complete experience, and you should expect to find the full level of functionality that's already available in 1Password for Windows.

If you'd like to be among the first to experience 1Password for Windows on Arm, download and install the preview release:

Please let us know how it works for you by sharing your feedback in this thread. The more quality feedback we have, the sooner we'll be able to exit preview and make the Arm version of the app available to everyone. 🔥

Its working great for me so far. It's extremely stable. Any timing on when it mainlines with the regular Windows beta?

**1Password for Windows 8.11 (ARM64) - Main app is disconnected from browser plug-in on Firefox

**

Thanks for introducing this version, it is fast and stable and arrived in time for our deployment of Microsoft Surface machines.

But there seem to be a disconnect between the main app and the browser (Firefox 28.0.3) (for your convenience, I'm attaching a screenshot). Even when the main app is unlocked, the browser plug-in is occasionally shown as "locked". Clicking on the icon of the browser plug-in brings up the main app (which is unlocked), but the browser plug-in icon continues to show "locked". As a result, the browser plug-in doesn't fill credentials in the browser.

This error remains with the latest stable plug-in as well as the current beta plug-in.

Please look into it. Thank you!

We can confirm that the problem originates with 1Password for Windows 8.11 (ARM64). We installed the affected app and replaced it with the current version for Windows (non-ARM64; 1Password for Windows 8.10.36). The problem disappeared.
To keep everything else unchanged, we didn't touch the Firefox plug-in, so we can conclude it is not the culprit.

Hope you can fix it!

I couldn't replicate the issue with the Firefox extension. Extension version 2.26.1 on Firefox 128.0.3 arm64 works and integrates without issue with the arm64 1Password desktop app 8.11.0 (81100001) for me.

Many thanks! I came looking and found this post. So happy ARM support is coming. I tried to download and got this. I uninstalled the previous 1P and still have this issue. Deleting the folder in Program files didnt help either. Any ideas? Thanks

Hello all,
Just purchased a new Windows 11 Copilot+ pc about a month ago and have been using the Windows 11 ARM preview version of 1Password.. Just today at boot up, since i have 1Password starting at boot, I get the following popup:
"This Alpha is reaching the end of its lifetime and will stop working in 6 days. Please get the newer version of this application".
Does anyone know if a newer version is being released? The notes to the release says it does not autoupdate. I've been checking the page and its still on version 8.11.

1Password Version: 8.11 (preview)

Hi. I believe this is from 1Password, but since there is no name on the dialog, I might be wrong.
For the time being, it looks like no updated build is available.
