Oct 10: We're leaving preview! Please migrate to the official build of 1Password for Windows (Arm): https://1password.community/discussion/148614/1password-for-windows-arm. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Aug 21: Updated the preview build with a version that does not expire. Please uninstall any previous versions of the ARM preview before installing this one.

Hello all!

It's an exciting time for Windows PCs with Microsoft's big announcements this week of the new Surface line, Copilot+ PCs, and, of course, the availability of devices based on the speedy, Arm-based Snapdragon X Elite processor.

Not to be left out of the fun, we'd like to share with you the first preview release of 1Password for Windows on Arm. 💪🥳

Of course, it's already possible to install and use 1Password on Arm-based Windows PCs, but until now the app has run in a slower x86 emulation mode. This is our first Arm-native build of the app, which means it is able to take full advantage of the new silicon.

Early indications are that 1Password for Windows on Arm is blazing fast (and we haven't even got our hands on the new Copilot+ PCs — yet!)

Things to know about the preview release

This preview build for Windows is based on the current stable channel release of 1Password (version 8.11). We are calling it a "preview" for three reasons:

  1. We have done limited testing on real hardware outside of virtual machines, as the new Copilot+ PCs have only just been announced.
  2. If 1Password is already installed on your PC, you'll need to uninstall the app before installing the Arm preview.
    • Your accounts will transfer over to the preview build, but I strongly recommend setting up a recovery code before uninstalling the app to be safe.
  3. This build of the app app will not update automatically — you will need to check back here for announcements and future releases.

Apart than these considerations, the build is a complete experience, and you should expect to find the full level of functionality that's already available in 1Password for Windows.

If you'd like to be among the first to experience 1Password for Windows on Arm, download and install the preview release:

Please let us know how it works for you by sharing your feedback in this thread. The more quality feedback we have, the sooner we'll be able to exit preview and make the Arm version of the app available to everyone. 🔥

Hi, I've just received this warning. Where is the new arm version? Thanks

August 13, 2024

I received the same warning message saying that the app will stop working in 6 days. Is there an updated build I can download please? Thanks

August 14, 2024

Yup.. same.. 5 days left to go...

August 14, 2024

Any update on when the ARM64 version will go live? The beta seemed to be just about ready but expires in a few days.

1Password (and the SSH agent) is critical to my day to day work. It would be a real pain to have to workaround that arbitrary expiration date. Even more so when everything is working flawlessly.

I hope a new build is available soon. Thanks.

Thank you for the reports. The team is aware of the expiry message and are working on a solution.

If no new build is available in time, you can temporarily uninstall the preview version and install the regular version: Get the 1Password apps

Can we get an update on this please? As ARM-based Copilot+PCs become more prevalent on our networks, having ARM-compatible apps is key and 1Password is huge for us. Emulation is fine, but performance and battery usage will be better if you guys have a sustained ARM build. Thanks!

Got the same message indeed. 1Password for ARM works flawlessly otherwise.

I don't understand the point of the expiration date. 1Passowrd for ARM worked amazingly, without issues or bugs. Why are you terminating it? ))):

Today is the expiration date :(
Hello 1Password ?
