Question

1Password not offering stored passkeys, falls through to Firefox 156.0.1 prompt?

I use Firefox 156.0.1 deb version in Ubuntu LTS 26.04.1. As I’m running the deb version, my browser can communicate with the 1Password executable, and successfully fills passwords and TOTP codes fine.

I have tried both 1Password plugins 8.12.40.23 (beta) and 8.12.32.33 (stable).

I have multiple sites for which I have passkeys configured, but increasingly, 1Password is no longer offering those keys when a site prompts for passkey authentication, and Firefox falls back to its internal prompt.

Claude suggests it could be that even though I have Firefox’s own credential manager disabled, that because it’s upgraded to its new rust based implementation, that the rust implementation even though disabled might have upset flow to 1Password?

Anyone else experiencing this?

PS. Anyone else noticed the insane number of different websites and domains this support forum pulls in javascript from? Noscript lights up like a christmas treee..

@adfhogan Thanks for reporting this! I am a developer on the browser extension team. I wanted to let you know that we just merged a fix for this and it should be available in the next release.
