Export on iOS fails with no error

When trying to export using CXP on iOS, 1Password will silently crash if it encounters an item that for whatever reason it can’t export. Any chance you can handle these errors gracefully, and provide a list of the offending items?

While you’re working on making the export more robust / reporting errors, any chance the flow can be a little less obnoxious? The “enter your account name” bit feels like deliberate friction to make me give up. I’ve already authenticated to open the app, I need to authenticate again before doing the export. Entering the account name adds nothing from a security perspective. It’s a non-destructive operation so a “stop and think” checkpoint isn’t required.

Hi @RichardStocks, thanks for posting!

I understand that you’re having an issue where 1Password silently crashes without an error during a CXP export. This definitely doesn’t sound intended, and I’d like to have our support team investigate further. Could you reproduce this, then create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from your iOS device?

Regarding your feedback about the flow itself, as it’s possible to have multiple accounts added to the app, this step can be useful to confirm which account you intend to export from, and acts as a safety confirmation, a human review to ensure you’re exporting exactly what you intended to export. However, I can definitely understand how it adds friction, and I’ve filed your feedback with the team to see if this can be better streamlined in future.
