Feature Request: SimpleLogin Integration

ProtonPass/Bitwarden + Simplelogin is a powerhouse solution that 1P really needs to catch up to.

Most people aren't interested in Fastmail because they want to keep their current email provider (e.g. Gmail). Unlike ProtonPass, 1P + FastMail is an additional cost, not a free integration.

At this stage, 1Password is only addressing half of the privacy and security concerns by just providing a password generator. But it does nothing for your username/email address which should also be anonymized/randomized.

Most database leaks have your email/username completely unencrypted so it's even more important that they should be random/unique for each account creation.

I'll be switching over to ProtonPass due to their FREE SimpleLogin integration once my 1P subscription runs out. That should give enough time for ProtonPass to catch up with some basic QoL features 1P has but none are as important as the email aliase feature on ProtonPass.

Adding my vote. Please provide an update that it is being looked into or not.

+1 vote to add simplelogin. i have seen so many post about this but developers are not at all confirming whether they are adding this feature or not. Proton Pass is giving that feature in all paid Proton Pass accounts but I have been using 1Password for quite long so I really like 1Password but if they do not provide this feature then that would be a game changing for us. I know they have integration with fastmail but why should I pay like $60-$80 extra if proton giving the same thing for just a normal price?

+1 It would be great if there was a simplelogin integration. This feature to hide your mail is becoming more and more popular (even Apple with iCloud+, ProtonPass and Bitwarden include it) but it would be nice to manage all your aliases in 1Password. I don't want Fastmail because it costs money for only one feature I want to use.

Any update on this? nothing but generic response from 1password saying you will pass on the feedback for 2 years now.

Would be good to get a more detailed answer given how often it's been requested for 2 years now.

I think it will never happen.
Maybe Proton won't allow integration.
Then the 1P team can tell us that. Otherwise we'll just get our hopes up unnecessarily.
I was hoping that 1P would integrate Simplelogin so that I don't have to switch to Proton.

Lately we've only seen fixes and no new features.

@vealpool Proton definitely allows this integration to happen. For one, SimpleLogin is open source, and with 1Password's large user base, Proton would certainly benefit from this.

I suspect that either they have prioritized other changes or, through a survey or some other metric, determined that there isn't enough demand for it. Alternatively, it’s possible that someone within the organization is opposed to this integration, so it just won't happen any time soon.

I have now personally decided to give 1P until the end of 2024 to bring new information or features. Otherwise, after all these years, a change is due.
