Help solving a problem which stops my wife logging onto a site with 1Password

My wife and I are both doing courses at a site. I have been doing so for 5 years while she started this year. She works on an iPadPro while I use my MacBookPro. Both are on the latest operating system ios26.6.1 in her case and MacOS 26.6.2 in my case. We both use Firefox on the latest version. This problem has been going on since March but until we started changing our email addresses it wasn’t critical. I logged in using 1Password while she logged in manually. At that stage we didn’t have her login on 1Password. She could not login on my laptop or on the main desk system using the same operating system as my laptop. I couldn’t log in on her iPad. It was a nuisance if I wanted to show her something on my system but she just had to look on one of the Mac systems.

Recently we started changing our email addresses due to a need to change internet provider and we decided to try again. Nothing has changed except that when we put her login on 1Password she just couldn’t log into her course at all. It was persistently trying to make her use my login. This was resolved by archiving her login and now she is back to the previous situation of logging in manually.

It appears that between 1Password, ios/Macos and Firefox there is something problem interfering with the normal behaviour of 1Password which I have found very satisfactory for quite a few years. It has not been a problem with any other site although we have tended to operate in different areas and use each others logins when necessary. With our banks or a supermarket where we have had separate accounts there haven’t been any problems.

Any advice would be gratefully received!!

Thanks for your response. Although you have outlined the way you think I should operate it isn’t how we want to operate. So I will just close this thread and move on

At first I thought you should see How best to manage multiple users sharing the same computer and other similar posts over the years from folks who are misusing multi-user platforms and unnecessarily complicating things by sharing accounts, however I am stuck on your mention that

Recently we started changing our email addresses due to a need to change internet provider and we decided to try again.

Your ISP should be completely irrelevant and the fact that you mention than any email address changed indicates that you are using your ISP as your email provider. This is a terrible idea for too many reasons to properly address here, one of which you now know. There are some very good options for reliable, reputable, and private email hosting with cost starting at none.

In summary, it’s almost certain that these problems and many more will be solved by each of you having your own accounts everywhere, with only Vaults containing shared resources being shared.
