Are you going to add print option back on to rev 8, if not, I need to start looking for another provider that doesn't think me smart enough to safeguard my own business.

@chevysaur

With 1Password 8 we completed the move to membership only. Would printing out the Emergency Kit (with password) and including it with your papers fill the need?

Thank you for the feedback. There's no need to post the same comment in multiple threads. I've replied to you here: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/668326/#Comment_668326 🙂

I want to add my voice to the many many members who want you to put back the ability to print the data. It's a great case of developers using their judgment and not asking customers what they find useful. Time to take classes on customer surveys and talking to customers.

Hi @edpeters22 - I've added a vote on your behalf to the feature request that we currently have open for this.

Its been explained in great detail why the ability to print is so important,..... here and elsewhere....Why will you not listen?
My estate executor requires a printed copy of my passwords......

I vote for the right to print. There are a variety of valid reasons to print hard copies of these passwords. I was surprised when it was taken away.

@TRodPass

Can you tell me a little more about how you would personally use the ability to print items? Our product team would love to hear how this feature would be useful for you. 🙂

Dave, thanks for asking.
First, if I only have my passwords stored at 1Password, I am vulnerable to any problems or issues logging in to 1Password (as rare as they are, they can and have occurred). And, your terms of service specifically exempts the company from any liabilities associated with use (see “Disclaimer And Non-Waiver of Rights”) and explicitly states that “Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.” Meaning, your lawyers entertain the possibility that the service could go down, making our passwords inaccessible. So, I prefer a hard copy, printed, and securely stored as a back-up to loss of service. Second, there are several estate planning, “in the event of my death” issues that lawyers offer various advice for. And that includes having some back-ups of at least some of the passwords stored with various legal documents. (Some logins would best be implemented fairly quickly in such a situation.) Further, if someone other than me were having trouble accessing my 1Password using my emergency kit, or even a separate vault set-up just for those passwords, could they get help from AgileBits to access my vault? Would you be able to help them? Would you require a death certificate? I have to assume that the company would rather stay out of these situations? Also, if I were to initiate two-factor authentication, this would further complicate the issue. While I trust and value the perspective of the team there to NOT print (along the lines of why in the world would you want to??). There are reasons to do so, and it used to be possible and should be our choice as users. Even Nick on the 1Password blog entertains that there might be reasons people want a hard copy of passwords: "Alternatively, you can export your data. Or, if you don’t have a password manager, create a simple spreadsheet." I understand I can print individual passwords and I can (and have) exported and edited my lists for reasons I’ve mentioned, but it’s not a formatted list with the graphics of individual passwords the print option used to offer--it was just a nice, simple list to print and store in a safe. In summary, I’m not printing to have a list of my passwords for my used—I fully and only use the excellent 1Password features; I’m merely offering that individual users have reasons to print some or all of their passwords for contingencies and are willing to take the risk of keeping those safe (as, in a safe…where you advise keeping our emergency kits. To quote your advice on your site about storing the Emergency Kit, “The truth is there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.” I would argue that the same is true for whether or not we print our passwords. It seems odd to hold the position that you took away the option to print the full (formatted) list because you don’t think we should.
