Quick Access slow to appear

I've noticed on recent versions of 1Password for Mac that Quick Access is slow to appear after authenticating with a fingerprint. I have an 2021 MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro chip. After pressing Cmd+Shift+Space and authenticating with the fingerprint, it takes 2-3 seconds for Quick Access to appear. I recall it used to appear much more quickly. The slowness persists even if all other applications on my Mac are closed. If 1Password is already unlocked and I press Cmd+Shift+Space then Quick Access appears instantly. I tried resetting the app as detailed here but that did not fix the problem. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Hello @msridhar23! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing a delay with Quick Access appearing after you unlock 1Password on your Mac. We've received other reports of this behaviour and have been able to reproduce it on our end as well. I've added your report to the internal work item open for the issue.

Hopefully the issue can be fixed in a future update soon.

Any updates on this,  it's still slow to show the popup after unlock via TouchID using Quick Access

Thanks, Dave! Will a comment be posted here when the issue is fixed, or is there some other way for me to track it?

Hi Dave,
Any updates on this? The Mac app seems to get slower and slower with every release. It's becoming quite frustrating to use.

@TIS_TomG

I don't have any updates to share at this time. This issue, where Quick Access will open after a delay, only occurs when you open Quick Access while 1Password is locked. If 1Password is unlocked then you shouldn't see the delay.

One workaround is to change your auto-lock settings so that 1Password stays unlocked for longer periods of time: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

Very sorry to be a bother, but I find this issue to be quite frustrating, particularly since I've gotten used to very responsive performance from 1Password for all the years I've had it.  Is there any estimate as to when this issue might be prioritized or fixed?  Thank you very much.

I don't have an ETA on when the issue will be resolved, I'm sorry that I don't have any news to share at the moment.

Hi,

I too am having this issue. It is getting worse with every update. Slow to update and slow to search, slow to edit. Very frustrating.

@mlv555

The issue being discussed in this thread should only affect Quick Access and not the editing of items. So that I can see what's going on in your case, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

Send a diagnostics report (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

Hi, I sent the diagnostics along with the link and username. I have not received any Support ID number yet.

Agreed, the whole 1PW experience is getting slower, the Safari integration is getting really slow, doesn't link up more often, and the little drop down icon in a password field is infuriating to use now.    I wish they had not stopped development of the full native app, the electron stuff is not good at all.

@tdehnke

I'm sorry that 1Password for Safari isn't performing as fast as it should be, that definitely isn't right. So that I can investigate further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser:

Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

I'm disappointed to report this issue still hasn't been fixed for me, as of 1Password for Mac 8.11.20 (81120039).  I feel that for quality software that I pay for, a pain point like this should have been addressed long ago.

I was having issues like this, and I found a solution. I removed 1Password completely, rebooted, then downloaded the latest pkg installer from the website.

It seems the built in auto-update mechanism and the app installer are no good.

I'm still having this issues with version 8.12.2 (81202037). Is there any solution?
