Repeatedly asked for MacOS TouchID in Safari even after password is filled

Lately 1Password has been behaving oddly with MacOS and Safari. It repeatedly shows a popup for TouchID, even after it has filled the password for a website. The popup for TouchID covers the login fields and shows the password options again, even though the fields have been filled. It used to be I could do TouchID once per browsing session and after that 1Password would show the login options, and after choosing one for a given website it would log me in. Now I have to clear the TouchID window and hit enter to get logged in. This is very annoying.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience. It sounds like you might have enabled 1Password’s new support for macOS AutoFill (which you can read more about here). When support for macOS AutoFill is enabled you’ll be prompted for Touch ID every time you fill a login due to a default setting in macOS. 

If you don’t want to use Touch ID each time you fill a login then follow these steps to change that setting: 

  1. From the menu bar, select the Apple menu  > System Settings.
  2. In the sidebar, select Touch ID & Password.
  3. Turn off Use Touch ID for autofilling passwords.

I’m having the same problem. It’s awful. What used to work doesn’t work. The update broke 1Password and Safari for me.

      I am having a reverse problem on Android app. It keeps asking password even if I have setup touch Id and neve to ask password. I think the build across all platform is having this issue
