Hello folks,

I'm happy to share that you can now add Zen Browser as an additional browser to 1Password for Windows. Follow these steps:

  1. Install 1Password in Zen Browser from the Firefox Browser Add-ons Store
  2. Add Zen Browser as an additional browser to 1Password: Connect additional browsers to the 1Password app

A couple of notes:

  • Make sure that Zen Browser is installed system-wide with admin permissions in the C:\Program Files folder.
  • Zen Browser is not an officially supported browser and you might run into unexpected issues. If you see those same issues with a supported browser like Firefox then let us know by starting a new discussion and we can investigate.

Thank you for the feedback, I've filed feature requests with the team on your behalf.

A quick note: even if a browser isn't supported you can likely still use the 1Password extension in that browser, however you'll need to unlock it separately from the desktop app using your account password. I know that most will know this but I wanted to mention it in case someone doesn't yet in case it helps them.🙂

@1P_Dave

"you'll need to unlock it separately from the desktop app"

We know that, that's the reason why we're asking for the trusted browser feature. You're not a small indie company anymore, and fixing the bug that allowed us to use 1Pass in Opera (saw it in another thread), for example (and by that I mean the connected app/extension experience), did nothing but annoy your own loyal customers.

Unless there was some serious security problem (which was never communicated), this bug simply shouldn't had been fixed until the trusted browser feature is ready, at least in a beta version.

I"m hoping this post doesn't look like an attack on you (it's really not), but it's a really frustrating situation. Supporting only 4 browsers on Windows in 2024 is simply unacceptable.

Thank you again for the feedback. The team hopes to bring the additional browsers feature to 1Password for Windows in the future because we know how important it is to be able to use your chosen browser (it's why we've invested the development time and resources into building the feature for the Mac) and I'll continue to push for the feature to be built and released for Windows on my end. 🙂

Hi! I didn't expect this to get any traction but apparently it did. Not just here but also on Reddit.

For me, there is essentially **no **replacement to 1Password as it plays a crucial role in my productivity. It has saved me so much time and headache while also being the only password manager with a 3-factor authentication.

Using any browser I want is just important. While my comment isn't anything of value, I continue to ask to push for Additional Browsers feature. If it was a hit on Macs, it will undoubtedly be even bigger on Windows.

Please be the market leader.

Hi! Are there any updates on adding the custom trusted browsers feature to Windows? I want to emphasize how essential this feature is for me. 1Password is a crucial part of my productivity, and being able to use my preferred browser – Zen – would make a significant difference to my workflow. Given that this feature has been popular on Mac, I believe the demand on Windows would be even stronger. Thank you for any updates you can provide!

Hi, I'm also looking for Zen Browser support. Being able to support custom browsers on Windows would be hugely useful for more than browsers like this. While authenticating "manually" is not a deal-breaker in the meantime, it would be extremely nice to have parity between platforms for features like this!

+1 for Zen support and/or custom browsers on Windows

Man, why does it still not work. Id love 1password support in Zen Browser.
Lots of creators use the browser!

I recently migrated to Zen, and it's true that it's annoying to have to authenticate twice on 1password. I hope integration will come soon 🙏
