Unable to sign in to a Google account using a saved passkey

Tech glitches can be a bit frustrating, but don't worry – we've all been there at some point! 😅 When it comes to using passkeys for sign-ins, it might be worth checking if the option is available in your account settings. Sometimes, these things can vary based on your device or account type.

SOLVED
After many issues with this. I decided to try creating a passkey on an old google account with very little on it. nothing more than basic password entry. The 1p passkey worked well. I then went back to my main account and same problem. I deleted all of the URLs on the account in 1p and deleted the passkey both in 1p and google. I then recreated the passkey on the main account and now it has started working for the first time on the main account.

Its not clear to me by 1p wasnt trigerring in the first instance. the URL in the login profile on 1p or if its the new passkey itself. But now google seem to know to go to 1p for the passkey when it didnt before.

Section "Turn skip passwords on or off for users"

This is working fine for me, although I initially thought it wasn't working either because of how you have to use a passkey to sign into google.

Make sure at the password screen to select "Try another way", then on that screen, you should have the option to use the passkey.

On Windows, the "use your passkey" option allows Bitwarden or Windows Hello passkeys but 1Password does not work for Google.

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with Google passkeys on your Windows PC. Can you confirm that you're using the latest version of 1Password in the browser: Download 1Password in the browser

If you are already using the latest version then can you tell me which browser you're using? Can you also check to make sure that the following option is turned on:

1. Open your browser.
2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar.
3. Click Settings.
4. Click AutoFill.
5. Make sure that "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" is turned on.

@1P_Dave Thank you. I'm using 2.18.0 (Beta) in Edge and 8.10.22 (also Beta) in Windows itself. "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" was already on. Bitwarden is able to handle passkeys for Google and other sites in Edge and 1Password on other sites in Edge, but not Google.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have both 1Password and Bitwarden turned on in Edge? If you do then can you temporarily disable the Bitwarden extension and then try to save a passkey for your Google account again: Add, turn off, or remove extensions in Microsoft Edge - Microsoft Support
