'Unlock 1Password.com using the extension' function missing

Has the ‘Unlock 1Password.com using the extension’ function been removed?

It was introduced in release 2.25.1 and featured in blog post 1Password product enhancements [Fall edition]. Release 8.11.22 made the function optional.

It has recently stopped working for me and disappeared from the browser settings.

Hello @hegguardo! 👋

I’m sorry for the confusion. As our support team mentioned, we’ve temporarily disabled the feature that automatically unlocked 1Password.com when the browser extension was unlocked while we complete some additional work behind the scenes. For the time being, you’ll need to unlock 1Password.com manually.

1Password product team confirmed (via tech support) “that this feature been removed for the time being whilst we put some additional safeguards in place. With that said, the team does hope to bring it back in the future, though I don't have any details to share as to when that might be at the moment.”
