Question

1Password Group Policies / ADMX

Hi 1Password,

I'm struggling to get more information regarding the GPO policy feature introduced last year.

The only notice I can find is the changelog stating

[Windows only]: Added group policy support using ADMX templates.

Where can I find these?

There is a page on MDM with some registry options, but I was hoping for a smoother process by using established GPO configurations.

Note: I can't add links in the forum: it claims "Your post contains invalid HTML. Remove the following invalid tags before publishing: a, a (data-airgap-id)"

I found some details on how to get the ADMX from the comments on the announcement where someone asked the same question. Where are the official instructions? Or is this it?

Instead of descriptions for each entry, its just a link to the website.

> For information about this setting, visit https://support.1password.com/mobile-device-management/?windows

The website link doesn't have all the items, so options available in the ADMX are lacking a description.

Examples

  • app.snippetsShortcutMonitoringEnabled
  • app.snippetsEnabled
  • app.notifyCopyTotpToClipboard
  • app.autoFillPasskeyShowFillingSuggestions

These are just from the first section.

Appreciate the implementation, but seems half-baked. Will there be any further work on this feature?

I've created a new Intune policy using the ADMX, however they fail to be imported onto workstations.

I've tried on 2 different tenants, targeting Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2.

I'll give up on this until its out of beta.

Hi @hpssa, just a heads up that there was an issue with the ADMX template and Intune in the previous release.
The 1Password for Desktop 8.12.0 release seems to have fixed and creates a new template which I just tried and it fixed the Intune ingestion for me.
