Account was lock despite having a valid subscription through Apple. Now charged twice!

I am a long time 1Password user. I originally purchased 1Password 4. Recently I found that I need to convert to the newer paid subscription format. I’m okay with this and I selected the annual subscription through Apple for $47.99. That worked fine. I was able to use the newest version for 1P across all devises: Mac, iPhone and iPad. BUT that only worked for two weeks until the trial period ended.

Even-though Apple charged my $47.99 1Password locked my account for non-payment. I tried endlessly to reach someone. Finally ‘Mike’ wrote to me that it was an easy fix. I just needed to get the Apple subscription ‘linked’.

He told me to go to Manage Accounts…. Subscribe Now. He claimed that 1Password ‘will detect’ your existing in-app purchase and apply it automatically.

WRONG. Exactly what I was afraid would happen, happened. I was charged again! Another $47.99. Yes, my account is now unlocked but it cost me!

Customer support has been terrible.

Apple solved the duplicate payment problem by refunding one of the two subscriptions.
