Are you using 1Password’s new Credential Governance features?
Full disclosure: I just started work at 1Password as a Product Intern, and I’m posting this to get honest feedback from people who use 1Password at work.
The latest Credential Governance release is intended to help admins discover and take ownership of company-owned credentials that sit outside the normal SSO and provisioning flow, including shared accounts, break-glass accounts, contractor logins, shadow IT, and apps that do not support SAML or OIDC.
If you have access to it:
- Are you using it?
- What has been useful so far?
- What feels confusing or incomplete?
- Does the discovery workflow surface the right credentials?
- Does the ownership transfer process make sense?
- How are access controls, rotation, and auditing working for you?
And if you are not using it, I’d especially like to understand why. Is it a visibility problem, an onboarding problem, a missing capability, or simply not a priority for your team?
I’m asking because I’d like to help make this better for the people who use 1Password every day. Honest criticism is welcome.
