Export only one account

Hi, I have a personal and a work account for 1Password. I need to back up the passwords from the work account. I'm using the 1Password app on my Mac and only want to export the work account, which I've selected during the export process.

However, the resulting CSV file also contains my personal passwords, which I obviously don't want to share.

I've already logged out of my personal account so that only the work account vaults are displayed, but all the passwords still end up in the CSV file.

I think this is a bug!

What else can I do?

Hello @tim_taylor! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! 1Password's export tool is designed to export items only from one account at a time and, without being to see the situation directly, it sounds to me like you may have stored some of your personal items in the work account. 

Can you try the following: 

  1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
  2. Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and select your work account. 

  3. Click on the search field in the top of the app and search for your one of personal passwords. 


Do you see the password appear? If you do then you can click on it and see which vault it is currently located in. Let me know how that goes.

Hi,

no, unfortunately that didn't work. I even logged out of my personal account and then used the export function, but my personal passwords are still in the export. Of course, I can't find them using the search function. I know this sounds really weird.

Maybe I should uninstall 1Password?

That definitely doesn't sound right. So that I can look into this further, I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from your Mac:

Send a diagnostics report (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:
