Feature Request – Centralized Multi-Instance Management for Acquired Companies
Hello 1Password Team,
I’m the Head of IT at a rapidly growing company, and as part of our expansion we’re frequently acquiring other businesses. Currently, each acquired company requires its own separate 1Password instance, which creates additional administrative and billing overhead.
I’d love to see a feature similar to how Okta handles multi-tenant environments — a “hub and spoke” model where:
- There is one main account that serves as the central management hub.
- Separate “spoke” accounts exist for each business unit or acquired company, each with its own vaults, permissions, and branding.
- The central hub can manage global policies, access controls, and reporting across all spokes.
- All billing is consolidated under the main account.
This setup would allow us to maintain separation of data for compliance and operational purposes while still managing everything from a single administrative location.
Is this something 1Password has on its roadmap, or would consider for future development?
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Tony Snyder
