Feature Request: Employee Vault write-access

I understand the Employee vault is private by design.

However, when onboarding new employees it would be extremely convenient for a 1Password admin to create entries in the new employee's private vault.  This would be used to provide initial login/password information for the employee's various accounts.

Being able to create such entries would make the process much simpler and eliminate the need to use other out-of-band methods to communicate login info securely.

Awesome idea, that would be a great feature for the 1P roadmap

+1

If the feature would be scoped as "As an admin, we would like to create/push entries to users' employee vault", it would also solve centralised, auditable, per-user credential distribution.

We face this issue when launching new services to end-users that does not follow a standardised sign-up flow or where IT manages credentials directly.

Happy to submit my own feature request if OP disagrees with the above.

Hi @NiklasL, thanks for letting us know this is something you'd also like to see added. I've filed your feedback with the team as well.

Thank you Gem!
I would like to highlight that the request still assumes/respects that the Employee vault is considered immutable. I.e. pushed credentials are considered a 1-way create action.

@NiklasL I agree completely.  That's exactly what I had in mind.
