Find out Vault manager

Is there a way to find out a vault manager?
I can find out from https://xxxxxx.1password.com/vaults but a normal user can't see this page and can't view even the other users of a vault from the "view vault items" view.

Is there a way?

Hi @cirelli,

Could you say a bit more about what you're trying to achieve or what data you wan to be accessible to users? Is it that you want users to be able to see who has certain permissions in a vault?

Hi Simon and thanks for the support.
Let's say I have a user A that is a manager of a vault.
User B has access of that vault but can't known who is the manager.

If user B would like to give access to another user C, should have to ask to A to do it, but he don't know who he is.

Hi @cirelli,

Thank you, that's very helpful to have that example.

There's not a way for a user to see who has what permissions in a vault without giving them access to reporting tools, which I'm guessing you don't want to do.
What we typically see companies do is one of the following:

  • Have a page on the company intranet listing vaults and who manages them.
  • Build a form on the intranet where employees can request access to vaults.
  • In your particular example, if user C just needs one particular credential in that vault, user B could just share the credential with them without having to share the whole vault or involve user A.

Would any of those solutions work for your company?

Those are ugly solutions but I think it already works like that!

If you don't know who is user A, user B must ask in a "public channel" to find out who he is, wasting time and attention of a lot of people not directly involved in that process.
