Kolide Check Templates

Hi everyone!  

Can moderators in this community create a space for Kolide Admins to share checks and templates that they use in their environments? This would be similar to the way that Jamf uses Jamf Nation to allow admins to collaborate and share to better secure and protect our environments.

    Hi Steve,

    Great suggestion–we'd love to see folks sharing their Custom Checks!

    For the time being, people can just attach their Custom Checks in discussion posts or paste the SQL directly into a reply. If we see enough interest, we can also explore having a dedicated space for this in the future.

    I am curious if anyone has created a check to ensure a user is on a required VPN.  We require employees to be constantly connected but allow users to sign out if something doesn't work.  With that comes users forgetting to sign back in.  We have our MDM notify them when they are offline, but users still ignore this message.  We want to create a check that would warn user for a day or two, but then block access after that.  On a PC there is a VPN utility built-in that we can user to check if a user is connected, but on Mac there is no such utility.

    I’m guessing there hasn’t been much traction on this?

    It might be a case of “chicken or the egg” - if there is no obvious place to discuss custom-checks then people might not even think of it?

    I’m certainly very keen (desperate?) to discuss some custom checks with other admins
