Recovery code not working. Error during account recovery

Hi everyone,

I created a 1Password test account to try out the recovery process and make sure it would work reliably in a worst-case scenario.
In this test account, I set up two-factor authentication and created a recovery code. After waiting a few days, I wanted to test whether the recovery process works as expected.

I went to the 1Password login page in my browser and clicked the link indicating that I was having trouble signing in. I then entered my email address.
In the email I received (“We’ve received your request for help with 1Password”) I clicked the “View my account” button. On the next page, my 1Password account was shown, and after selecting the account, I was able to enter my recovery code.

However, the recovery process does not seem to work as expected. After entering the recovery code, I repeatedly receive the error message: “Something went wrong.
My recovery code is correct, and I have already waited a few days before testing it again, but I still keep getting the same error.

Could you please explain why the recovery process is failing and why I keep receiving this error message?
Also, can this feature be relied on in a real emergency if it already fails during testing?

I would appreciate any help or guidance.

This isn't an error I've seen before when trying to use a recovery code. So that our team can investigate further, I'd like to ask you to reproduce the "Something went wrong" error, then create and share a console log from the browser tab where it occurred:

Save a console log in your browser 

Attach the console log to an email message addressed to: support@1password.com

With your email please include:
