1Password for Safari just waits

Using Safari 15.4.

When I click on the 1Password for Safari icon in the Safari toolbar I shows "Loading" but nothing further. I recently deleted 1Password 7 and use 1Password 8 exclusively now.

How do I fix this behavior?


1Password Version: Mac 8.7.0 80700002, on BETA
Extension Version: ?
OS Version: macOS 12.3, M1 iMac

    Hey there ozarkcanoer! It sounds like the extension in Safari is unable to connect with the 1Password app. Let's try the following to fix that:

    1. Right-click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings.
    2. Under General, disable "Integrate with 1Password app".
    3. Fully quit 1Password app and browser.
    4. Restart the 1Password app and then open browser.
    5. Right-click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings.
    6. Under General, re-enable "Integrate with 1Password app".
    7. Test things out with the extension.

    If that doesn't help, I'd like you to send over the following so we can take a closer look at what may be going on:

    • The extension console log: https://support.1password.com/cs/extension-console-log/
    • A diagnostics report (via the steps below)
    1. Open and unlock 1Password 8 for Mac.
    2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
    3. Click on Preferences.
    4. Click on Advanced.
    5. Click on Send Diagnostics.

    Attach the logs and diagnostics to an email message addressed to mailto:support+forum@1password.com. With your email please include:
