1Password in Firefox uses a lot of CPU

I am running 1P 8 beta on macOS in Firefox and finding the extension frequently ends up using a lot of CPU. Right now, with a single tab open, Firefox is showing 108% and there are probably 20+ 1Pass...

I appreciate you taking the time to provide all these details. What you're seeing certainly is odd, and not expected for sure. At this point I think it's worth it for us to take a closer look at the logging from the browser extension and the Mac app, just in case anything sticks out.

Can you re-create the behaviour you've described, and then create a diagnostics report from your Mac, and a console log from your browser? Here's some steps:

  • https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/#1password-8 (it shows the Windows tab with this link, but the steps are the same to get diagnostics in 1Password 8 for Mac)
  • https://support.1password.com/cs/extension-console-log/#firefox

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

With your email please include:
