I might disagree with some of your points. Cloud is, as you say, using someone else's computer. It is a good thing because you said you are not using any cloud services. What will happen if your local disks got corrupt or broken? How will you manage your backups? In case of disaster, how can you access your passwords and all other saved documents? You might use external disks, usb sticks but none of them are reliable. A simple overvoltage or broken cable can break them. Also, consider worst case scenario. What will you do if someone breaks in to your home, steals your stuff, how can you recover from it?
As for safety, your data is encrypted. They are not stored in plain format in anywhere. Even if someone steals your data from 1P cloud servers, they will not have access to anything. They will only see encrypted data, nothing more.
As for subscription, lifetime licenses are good for customers but bad for business. It is simply not a sustainable income for business. Even though you say you only want v7 or v8 or whatever version you want to stay for a fixed price, it still costs money to the company. They still have to work on current versions, work on bugs, security issues, patching, adapt to new technologies, and these require manpower. You know a software developer is not cheap labor, and they are employing hundreds of employees, which cost a lot on money.
