Unconceal concealed fields when editing in 1Password 8
That's fascinating, @"a.jaffe", thank you for this. I've added it to our internal issue so that our developers know what you've seen around this. Thank you for sharing the info! This may well make an important difference.

I had been able to paste into the quick access, but I agree this is yet another step backwards from a usability and efficiency perspective.
If this was the only issue I would learn to live with it. It was much faster to simply click the menubar icon and start typing. Now I need to click the icon, move the pointer to click again, then start typing. This is just one example (another is offered above).
The previous 1PW mini that existed in various forms for the past several versions was great - small, fast, and properly targeted for its intended purpose. The new quick access is anything but quick.
Minor, but the new QA still triples the amount of effort from 1PW7 mini.

AMonitorDarkly paints it perfectly. There's much to love about 1Password v8 for Mac, but I miss the mini-window for brain-free, quick referencing, sometimes multiple times per session (depending on the work).

Copy/Pasted from my original thread on this. I’ve seen scores over other users voicing the same complaints since 1P8 was released on the Mac.

Its not that I can’t access things from Quick Access, it’s that I can’t do it nearly as quickly and easily as before. In 1P7, clicking Menu Bar icon immediately brought up a nice, easy to use miniature 1P interface.
With Quick Access, you now have to search for an item, with no option to just pick something from the favorites menu or your tags. Once you find your item, if it’s something you don’t want to just open in a browser, you have to click the menu next to the item. Even that doesn’t bring up the full item, just the username and password. If you want to see something else on the item, you have to click Open In New Window, which oddly transforms the UI into a pop window that you can’t go back from, only close out and start over. Or you can click to open the item in the full 1P app, completely defeating the purpose of everything you’ve just done.
This is a significant step backwards. The previous Mini UI was a literal mini version of the app that made it simple to quickly view an entire item with minimal effort.
Also, you can’t create or edit items in Quick Access as you could with Mini. Quick Access is just convoluted and clunky. The more I try to use it, the more annoyed and baffled I get.

Hi crackingtoast,
Sorry to hear Quick Access isn't behaving as expected, could I confirm that pasting works elsewhere on your device? I'm also unable to recreate the issue so any other details you can provide to help us figure out what's going on would be appreciated! Thanks for jumping in @ddougan, very much appreciated. 💙
Is there any particular function that isn't working as you'd expect? If you're able to share some more details about what you're finding more time consuming, I'd love to help!

This is my biggest annoyance with 1P8. Quick Access is multiple steps backwards from 1P7’s Mini. Everything in Quick Access is more time consuming and less intuitive.

I just tried this and I am able to paste in the Quick Access window (MBP; Mac OS 12.5).

You can't paste in Quick access. So if you have an email address or number on your clipboard that you want to search in 1P it does not work.
Hello @Bittabola! 👋
Quick Access is the new way to access your items quickly using 1Password 8. By pressing Shift-Command-Space on your keyboard, you'll immediately have access to all of your items in any app:
You can read more about Quick Access here: Get to know Quick Access
I hope that helps. 😊
