Can't export attachments
I seem to remember that it used to be possible to export attachments in previous builds, but in 8.7.0-3.NIGHTLY, I simply can't figure out how to do it. Am-I missing something?

Because it is a linked file. You have to attach it directly into the entry.
Sure… But it was attached directly (embedded within the item) in 1Password 7. It got automatically split up and linked during the transition to v8.
Believe me, I did not manually split them into a software entry, and a document for the license file, with a link to it in the software entry.
Since the licence files can be embed within the software items, it looks like a bug to me (or maybe it's something that has changed along the betas).
Now, I wish there was a way to automatically re-embed all these items that got split up by the transition.
I can do it manually (open the lined item; download; re-open the original item; attach the file; remove the link; delete the item that was created and linked), but it requires a LOT of steps and is extremely tedious. I checked in my library and I have 93 such items that got split up this way.
