chrome addon no longer working with 1password 8

Ive updated 1password 7 to 8. it looks like it worked well but now the chrome addon no longer workds. I tried removing and re installing, but doesnt work.

I see two version possible 4.7.5.90 and 2.5.1

what to do to get this to work? very annoying, feels like an update should be something easier

1Password Version: 8.9.11
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: macos 12.5
Browser:_ Chrome

    Hey matbb,

    It sounds like the older Classic version of 1Password in your browser may be interfering. Can you try the below steps:

    1. Open Chrome and paste chrome://extensions followed by the enter key in your address bar.
    2. Remove '1Password extension (desktop app required)' 4.7.90
    3. Make sure 1Password - Password manager (2.5.1) is enabled.
    4. Quit and reopen your browser and test to see if things work as expected.
