I certainly have the same requirement as CrannyLammy . But then I've had this requirement ever since I moved from using only the 1Password desktop apps and getting a family sub. At that time I ended up with duplicates of my "Primary vault" and in many cases triplicates.
I seem to recall that there have been many requests for a duplicate removal tool, and always the answer has been that it's too difficult if the duplicates are not exact but that requests were made to the programming team. The suggestion to turn this into a "merge" tool seems a very reasonable compromise.
Really this duplicate issue has been on-going for years and never a useful response from 1PW as far as I know. They (1PW developers) seem to be far more focussed on introducing newer features and tweaking the interface, than solving a significant problem that has plagued users for years.
