Custom browser support removed?

I've been trying out Zen Browser as a replacement for Arc, but the biggest hurdle I'm facing is the less then ideal 1Password integration.

I get the "Integration status: Connection problem" error, and after searching for solutions, I was (briefly) excited by a potential solution of adding Zen as a custom browser, as mentioned in the following topic:

...but it seems this support has now been discontinued for macOS?

I do not see the option listed above in the "Browser" panel of Settings, and when I go to the "Labs" panel, I see the following:

...so apparently this workaround that Mac users have enjoyed, has now been rescinded?

Bummer.

I think 1Password is a fantastic product, and I've been using it for many years. This is the first time I've every been truly, incredibly annoyed by it. I guess there's a first time for everything?

😞

I'm sorry that you're not seeing the option, that definitely isn't right. I recommend that you reset the 1Password for Mac app:

🚨 Before proceeding, make sure that you have a copy of your Emergency Kit, that you know your account password, and that you're signed into 1Password on another device.

  1. Reset the 1Password app: How to reset the 1Password app on a specific device
  2. Add your 1Password account back to the 1Password app: How to add your 1Password account to the apps
  3. Follow the prompts to setup 1Password and configure any settings that you had configured before.

Then follow the steps in my previous post to add an unsupported browser to 1Password for Mac. Let me know if that still doesn't work.

Hello Former Member! 👋

Fear not! Custom browser support is still there, it's now graduated from being a Labs experiment to being an official feature for the 1Password for Mac app. You can find it here:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
  2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Browser.
  5. Add your browser by clicking Add browser

Let me know if you run into any issues. 🙂

Hi Dave,

Sorry, I'm not seeing the option you describe. Here's what I see:

I even tried switching to the latest 1Password Beta for Mac - 8.10.68 (81068012) which is what I'm showing in the screenshot above.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Dave, resetting 1Password did fix the issue.

I'm not sure how my app got into that state, but I'm glad to have it resolved. Thanks for your help.
