Does the connection between the desktop app and the browser extension still work?

For someone having the same problem:
The support team helped me to resolve it.
That problem was that my user ($USER) was the owner of the Firefox directory and everything within, so I had to run sudo chown -R root:root /opt/firefox and after that it worked.
