Thank you for the question! When using Safari, the SMS verification code is actually being filled by macOS itself and 1Password isn't involved: Autofill security codes from your iPhone in Safari on Mac - Apple Support (CA)
MacOS only does this in Safari and the feature isn't available for other browsers like Firefox. I would recommend submitting a feature request to Apple if you'd like to see them bring this to Firefox as well: Official Apple Support
