How to set 1Password as passkey default

Hello trimiMidake! 👋

Thank you for reaching out. Can you clarify which browser you're using and what kind of device? You mentioned Google Chrome in your post but your version details mention DuckDuckGo. Is this on desktop/laptop or on a mobile device?

If it's on a desktop/laptop and you're using Google Chrome then, as a first step, make sure that 1Password is set as the default password manager and the built-in password manager is turned off:

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
  3. Select General, then make sure Make 1Password the default password manager in this browser is turned on.
  4. Select Autofill & save, then make sure that "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" is turned on.
  5. Make sure that you've moved all of your items to 1Password and deleted them from Chrome's built-in password manager: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser
