You can copy the one-time password from the 1Password extension pop-over using a keyboard shortcut after you've verified it is the correct Login item. Here's more information about keyboard shortcuts: https://support.1password.com/keyboard-shortcuts/#1password-in-the-browser-mac.
After opening the 1Password extension pop-over, does it show Suggestions or All items? If 1Password in the browser suggests the website after opening the extension pop-up, you can use the [ Control ^ + Shift⇧ + Command⌘ + C ] keyboard shortcut to copy the one-time password from the Login item.
Alternatively, on some websites, you could click the Autofill button on the Login item to fill in the one-time password instead of copying and pasting.
