Make search bar and results full width / wider

It would be nice if the search bar, or at least the search results were wider so more text could be shown. Currently the search bar has a fixed width and if the item names are longer, the email assoc...

I have been using the V8 beta for a while now and this continues to be my biggest bug bear with the new version and was really hoping this search bar would have been expanded by now to use the available space. Please can this be prioritised.
