Multiple logins for same URL (IP)

I have got multiple applications on my NAS
To run them you enter the IP of the NAS followed by the port number, like https://192.168.1.222:1234

For example, I've got those 4 apps running on the same NAS
The following URLs are setup in the "website" section of each login in 1Password, respectively

Homebridge sur NAS:
https://192.168.1.222:1234
Portainer:
https://192.168.1.222:1235
Scrypted:
https://192.168.1.222:1236
Synology NAS DS918
https://192.168.1.222:1237

This will make 1Password list all four logins EACH TIME I want to access any of the 4 apps

Is there anything I can do so that 1Password recognizes the different URLs - each having a different port, so that 1Password only shows ONE login entry and not all FOUR all the time like above?

1Password Version: 8.9.13
Extension Version: 2.5.1
OS Version: Ventura 13.1
Browser:_ Safari

    Ok ...
    1. Please add "After selecting the "Beta" release channel, click the About section in the 1Password app settings and click "Check for Updates". 1Password will install the beta version and will require a restart to complete." to the instructions you gave me above ;)
    2. I confirm I'm running the beta, but selecting "Only fill on this exact domain" doesn't change anything in my case.
    3. Where/how should I let you know about my findings while running the beta? Is there a special chat, forum, link for us, "beta testers"? And if so, again, please add that information to the instructions :)

    Hey johnnygoodface,

After selecting the "Beta" release channel, click the About section in the 1Password app settings and click "Check for Updates". 1Password will install the beta version and will require a restart to complete.

Once that successfully installs, edit a Login item in the 1Password desktop app, the Autofill behaviour can be changed in the website field. Here's a screenshot of that:

We're still heavily testing this experimental feature, if you encounter any issues, please let us know.

I hope this helps you out, johnnygoodface! Let us know how things go.

OK I'm diving into it! But now that I have selected the "Beta" Release channel, what do I do? It doesn't say anything on the https://1password.community/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&target=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.1password.com%2Fbetas%2F about the next step... Should I remove 1Password and re-install, wait for the next auto deployment, how do I manually force install it????...

  • Hey johnnygoodface,

I totally respect your decision to stay with the stable release.

If you would like to give the beta a try I can reassure you that your data will not be at risk as Former Member mentioned.

Let us know if there is anything else we can help with at all!

I guess, since it's in beta), but my 1Password data is too important for me to possibly wreck it by using a beta version
I even use the nightly distribution channel that results in the bleeding edge of development for more than a year now, and it's not the data that is at risk. Even the nightlies are rock solid and never crashed or damaged data for me. The challenge with the beta or nightly versions is actually that sometimes, some subtle functionality is new or changes unexpectedly or stops working for a few days. Bad behavior is then fixed usually in one of the next nightlies. If you need an app that never changes and only provides new functionality once a month, use the release channel. However, if you're flexible and can cope with changing behavior and want to peek at new features earlier, you can use the beta or nightly channels just as well.

    Hi steph_giles
I'm glad this new option is coming up (...soon, I guess, since it's in beta), but my 1Password data is too important for me to possibly wreck it by using a beta version... I'll just sit and wait for that new release. It's great you guys are proactive! Thx

  • Hey johnnygoodface,

You may be able to achieve the behaviour you are after with our latest advanced autofill matching that is currently in the beta version of 1Password 8.

It gives you the the option, when you Edit the item in your 1Password app, to click on the settings icon in website URL field and choose to 'Only fill on this exact domain'.

Here's how you can switch if you would like to give this a try: Use 1Password beta releases.

    I hope this helps!
