My 1P8 beta not updating to 1P8 release version

As far as I can see 1P8 release is 8.7.0 80700098.

My beta 1P is 8.7.0 80700095.

When I click "check for updates" it shows "downloading update" but then changes directly to "you're up to date". Repeated several times.

Do I need to separately download the release version?

This sounds like the database schema change that others have reported. To get to the stable and or beta you would need to set aside the current database and pull in a new one.

Or can I change pref setting from 'nightly' to 'beta' and wait for beta to catch up to where I am? If not how "set aside the current database and pull in a new one"?

I installed release version on it and it wouldn't start.....got a message about "this Mac already used with more recent version and to use that". So I have restored the nightly build 80700112 version from a back up and it seems to be OK again

I saw the same behavior on my end running the nightly. I also took the same path as you did in restoring the previous nightly while troubleshooting an issue.

I am also having the same issue. 1Password is downloading a file but does not install it.

Also having the same issue, tempted to download the release version for Universal Autofill but don't want to have the hassle of then downloading a fresh beta next week and installing again etc...

I too am hitting this issue. It download somthing and then loops around again.

I'm sure when the next beta is out this will all resolve itself.

"But this confirm that there is an issue on BETA release channel".

Yes it does...at least for you and me. I thought there would be many posts about it here.

I have downloaded and installed the release version separately.

My other Mac is on nightly builds and currently on 8.7.0 80700112.....ie a higher version than release version. I installed release version on it and it wouldn't start.....got a message about "this Mac already used with more recent version and to use that". So I have restored the nightly build 80700112 version from a back up and it seems to be OK again.

Update...the Mac on nightly build has just updated to 8.8.0 80800012 (definitely 8.8.0 which looks inconsistent with previous 8.0.7 and with 80800012)

    Same here, I confirm.
During the downloading phase, something is downloaded actually...I see the net activity, a big amount of data, compatible with a new update, but I cannot find any file downloaded.
