no direct messaging in this forum?

i thought i posted this question already but i cannot find any trace of it. i would assume that i would have been notified had it contravened the rules so i will assume that it simply didn't post.

i received a message from a mod. i cannot find a way to reply to it. nor can i find a way to send a message to another user here. i see that there is a "sent" mailbox so logic would dictate that there is indeed a way to send a message but i cannot find it anywhere.

would someone please tell me how to send a direct message on this forum?
