No way to dismiss search via keyboard?

I always notice, and am bothered, when some aspect of interaction with an app is impossible from the keyboard. Right now it seems that I cannot dismiss a search in 1Password via the keyboard. To reproduce:

1. Enter search term
2. Hit CMD-Enter to search all items
3. Hit Escape, which in most applications will dismiss currently active search
4. Doesn't work; so hit CMD-F to get cursor into search field and THEN hit Escape
5. Still doesn't work; try CMD-period and random other shortcuts
6. Nothing works; reach for mouse and click the little X below the search field

Please let us dismiss a search with Escape. It works in the browser extension. It works in Quick Access. It works in every other app I can think of. It doesn't work in 1Password.

Or, if there's some super secret key combination that will work instead, please let me know so I can cobble together a Keyboard Maestro macros to remap it to Escape.
