Passkey for browser version (no extension)

Hi,
I aren't allowed to have the extension or desktop version at work, but am allowed the browser version. Will it be possible to use passkeys for me using 1password from work? I use the my.1password.com daily from work.

Al_Nelson all the websites that I've seen with passkey support still allow for passwords (as well as 2fa) to be used. While passkeys are awesome, I do think that websites will continue to support logging in with passwords. I wouldn't worry about it too much for now, as most websites out there do not even have passkey support available.

Thanks hopefully some sites allow both passwords and passkeys, else it will be hard for me to adopt with the portal.

Hey Al_Nelson, it's only possible to save and sign in with passkeys via the beta version of the 1Password extension at this time. Though we do plan to bring passkey support beyond the extension in the browser, I don't know if or when there will be a way to save and sign in with passkeys via our web portal at my.1password.com.

That said, it is great to hear about your interest in using passkeys with 1Password. I'd recommend keeping up with our release notes for any updates regarding passkeys: https://releases.1password.com/

I also recommend signing up for our passkey newsletter: https://1password.com/passwordless-news/
