"Password strength is no longer shown on PIN codes."

Good evening!
I just noticed that the release note for the macOS version 8.7.0-90 indicates something that I find very interesting:

Password strength is no longer shown on PIN codes.

This is a problem I have with about 10 items in my vaults: some websites require the use of a PIN code instead of a longer password (often bank or insurance websites)

I don't see how to tell 1Password that a password is in fact a PIN code and CANNOT be longer (or add a new item "PIN code").
Could you help me?

Thanks for your precise answer 1P_Rob!
I understand better the behavior of the app!
I totally agree about the entities that impose PIN codes, it's a nonsense! •`_´•

Hi, JuCos. Right now there's not a way to designate a PIN code as such. The rule for ignoring PIN codes is that they have to be 6 digits or less and be in an item that does not have a website set. We don't want to end up with false negatives where folks are using short numeric passwords on websites and not being warned about it.

It's really not good for websites to require a PIN instead of a password, and it makes me sad that banks are often the ones so firmly stuck in the past when it comes to security measures. I'd highly encourage you to reach out to to these companies and ask them to update their security requirements to allow you and other customers to better protect your accounts with them.
