Re: Safari Extension won't fill if too many tabs open
Hello gussic! 👋
I'm sorry that you're also running into issues with 1Password for Safari, I've split your post into a new thread so that we don't take away focus from the specific issues that the other community member is reporting in their thread.
just adding some support to this as I also find this issue cropping up.
Can you tell me how many tabs you have to have open in order to reproduce the issue where clicking on the 1Password icon on a page won't show suggestions or allow you to autofill? And on what websites have you seen this issue? Can you still currently reproduce the issue?
The 1Password Safari Extension (1PSE) lock/unlock status does not keep up to date with the 1Password App's (1PA) lock/unlock status.
This is a known issue. 1Password for Safari is still sharing the same lock state as the 1Password for Mac desktop app but the icon graphic doesn't update quickly enough. Our developers are looking into this.
Clicking on the 1PSE to unlock it will display the normal macOS biometric unlock flow, and the 1PA will successfully update however the 1PSE refuses to unlock.
1PSE stuck on a "loading" screen after unlocking.
When this issue occurs next, before you workaround the issue, please right-click on the 1Password icon in Safari's toolbar and click Settings. Then, let me know if you see a green dot in the browser settings page or a different coloured dot and an error message?
Regarding macOS AutoFill, please see my reply to you here.

No exact number per-se but more than 10 tabs is when I start to see the issue crop up. I don't recall having experienced it with less than 10 tabs open. That's a cumulative number, across all open windows - so if I have one window with 8 tabs minimised and a new window with another 3 or 4 tabs I'll start to see the issue.

Yes I can.
1P_Dave wrote:on what websites have you seen this issue?
To be frank, I don't think I've visited a website where this won't happen on if that makes sense - obviously I can't categorically say all websites or only these specific ones, but out of the ones I frequent I don't recall ever saying one particular website where it doesn't happen.

Yeah typically it's yellow/orange - despite the 1PA being open in the background and unlocked. Even brining 1PA to the foreground doesn't seem to change the dot back to green. It normally requires a full restart of Safari to fix the issue.
