So is 1password X replacing standalone browser extension for chrome + desktop 1P8?
I noticed after upgrading from 1p7 to 1p8, that my Brave in-browser 1P extension was no longer able to connect to 1P helper
All was well before the upgrade.
Then I figured I'd just reinstall the extension. But then I get a surprise that the promoted extension is now the 1P-X. Not the extension that connects to the app.
Am I correct that the "desktop app required" extension is being phased out for 1P8 in favor of 1PX? I did like the browser integration of extension that connected to local app vs 1P-X.
So do I still have to now unlock 1P-X and 1P-8 separately? Are they "linked" in some way to where if I unlock 1 in one of the browsers (or the 1p8 desktop app), the others on the same device becomes unlocked and able for immediate use? If so, how are you doing this?
1Password Version: 8.4.1
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: win 10 64 bit

Hi 4EverMaAT
1Password in the browser (formerly called "1Password X") is the correct extension, and it does integrate with the desktop app. The lock state is shared between the two. 1Password Classic is no longer being developed.
If so, how are you doing this?
Do you mean what technologies are being used to enable the feature? If so, it is built around Native Messaging. I hope that helps!
