State changes to “Washington” on some websites despite being in Australia

I live in Western Australia, and the abbreviation is “WA”. My identity is configure with the correct state and country, however on some websites the app will input “Washington” instead of “Western Australia”.

I know some people don’t think Australia exists, but we are down here 🤭. Unfortunately, I don’t have an example of a specific website, but I’m wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue.

I live in Western Australia (WA) And I have an identity set up with my address details, including the state as WA.

However, when I try to fill-in some forms it puts the state as Washington instead of WA or Western Australia, even if the country is set correctly

  • Hello Ben! 👋

I've merged your comment into your previous thread, I'm sorry that it was missed the first time around.

I see that our development team is aware of this issue, I've added your report to the internal work item that we have open. For the time being, you can change "WA" to "Western Australia" in order to workaround the issue. I know that this isn't a great workaround but I wanted to mention it in case it helps.

    I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, Dave! I think people forget sometimes that humans exist outside the continental United States 😊

  • We definitely never want to forget anyone! Hopefully this is something that the team can improve in the future. Thanks again for the report. 🙂
