Strange copy behavour when cmd-tabbing into 1password window

My workflow often involves:
- work in application (e.g. Visual Studio)
- switch to 1password to copy password via keyboard (cmd + tab)
- click copy btn on password
- cmd tab back to work application (VS)
- paste password

Most of the time this works fine. But periodically when I switch to 1password and click the copy button the application window will "flash". When I switch back to VS (for example) the password will not be copied to clipboard. Attempting to tab back to 1password will not show the application. The only solution at this point is to quit and restart the app. Happens once or twice a day. I think it may be that 1password has actually timed out the login session but alt tabbing into the app is still showing the UX, it only "notices" that my session has timed out when I click copy.

Anyone else seeing this?

I sometimes experience the same issue.

There are a couple of comments from 1Password indicating that this is a known issue:

I wonder if it's related to this:
