What happened to "rename tag" feature when righ-clicking a tag?

In version 7, right-clicking a tag shows both "delete" and "rename" options. Version 8 beta shows only "delete" which forces user to create a new tag, assign it to all items with old tag, then delete old tag. Any relevant reason for killing that option?

BTW, don't you need to update this question category to "v8 Mac Beta"?

    Hi,

    If you need to move a lot of items to a new tag, there is another way to do this now:

    1. Select one of the items with the old tag and edit it; delete the old tag and then add the new tag before saving it.
    2. You should see the new tag on the sidebar. Click the old tag on the sidebar.
    3. Click into the item list, press Control/Command + A to select all items, and then drag the items onto the new tag on the sidebar. That'll update all of the items to include the new tag.
    4. Right-click the old tag on the sidebar to delete that tag and it'll be removed from the items.

    Now that 1P 8 is out we really need this! It also can't be done via 1password.com so renaming a lot if items using the same tag is very time consuming.

    +1 this. It's remarkable renaming is not an option. This is such an obvious addition, I imagine AB is going to add it in a beta soon.

    Hey @uhuhleuh:

    Great question (or two of them actually)! Renaming tags isn't currently in 1Password 8, but we've definitely heard the feedback for it, and I've shared your thoughts on our internal issue we have open for it.

    As for the section name, all the 1Password 8 betas are in our Desktop betas section, so I've moved your thread there as well. 🙂
