Attention span is shortening...

Anyone else feel like their attention span is shortening? Maybe it's my patience for really long winded articles and posts. No offense to the folks that want to write a book about...  this or that. The fast-forward button while I'm reading is to scroll really quickly and/or to go read the last paragraph. 😊

Hey! You allow emoji's 👍 Drives me crazy when forms won't allow that!

I'll go to reading a news article on one of the popular sites. I prefer reading over videos for the majority of topics. I've found it's easier for me to notice a hyper long topic that repeats the same stuff over and over. I prefer succinct reading. I'm not opposed to a good story or details I just don't prefer bloat that serves no purpose.

That said, I have also been known to write a long post or three. It seems to be really subjective if the user is passionate on the subject. It also serves a purpose if someone is having a hard time explaining a situation or conveying their message. I've been there done that.

Definitely agree that repetitive content and unnecessary bloat is a major frustration in all forms of communication. That could definitely be one of the reasons for my shortening attention span.  Also having an infinite internet full of material is something we all have to wrestle with.

I guess I've often gravitated to watching videos and listening to podcasts even when there are print versions because I want to reserve my print reading time to stuff that isn't available that way.

      Thanks for answering & moderating!
