Hey Jeff, hey Sara,
Thank you for this great opportunity to ask you directly. I wanted to reach out and ask about a feature that is really important to me and from what I have seen in the forum, it matters a lot to many other longtime and enthusiastic 1Password fans as well: Legacy Management.
1Password Access after Death, Legacy Contacts | 1Password Community
Is this something that is also on your radar? And if not, would you consider looking into it?
Thanks so much for your time! I really appreciate it.

I hope that despite not appearing to have @1P_ IDs here, Sara and Jeff will check this thread before the event tomorrow morning.
The event platform has a chat function, but single-stream chat can get messy quickly. Of course the chat may only be with each other, not the guests, given the agenda and that it's exclusive.

Hey accordionmelody & AJCxZ0!
Thanks for chiming in here! Just to set expectations, this fireside chat isn’t an AMA-style event, so there won’t be an open Q&A portion where Jeff and Sara take live questions. That said, I completely understand why legacy management/estate planning is such an important topic—planning for the future, especially when it comes to digital security, is something we take seriously.
While we don’t have a dedicated estate planning feature today, we have put a lot of thought into digital estate planning and how 1Password can help. If you haven’t seen it yet, we recently published a blog post and even an Estate Planning Guide on this very topic, covering best practices for ensuring your loved ones can access what they need while keeping your data secure.
The key recommendation right now is using the Emergency Kit, which you can store alongside your will to ensure your executor has the right details when needed. We’ve also introduced Recovery Codes, which—while not designed specifically for estate planning—could be another way to make account access easier when the time comes.
We truly understand the need for secure and responsible estate management, and our team is always considering ways to improve in this space. I really appreciate you bringing this up, and I’ll make sure this feedback is shared internally.
Hope you enjoy the event!
